Makes one wonder about the fantastic profits made with labor much cheaper than in Italy or most of the EU vs the losses when those same (or other) Asian producers make counterfeit versions of the stuff. We feel sorry for anyone getting a fake Pinarello but it's tough not to think 100% Made-in-Italy would likely have prevented this problem.Larry and Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16346445393389942837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172202953319134786.post-90449050828074029592011-04-03T14:03:33.746-07:002011-04-03T14:03:33.746-07:00probably these are bikes that come from the exact ...probably these are bikes that come from the exact production line in the Asian factory that makes the original Pinarellos, just without Pinarello's permission and authorisation. Thus, they are the same products, maybe with "loose" quality control standards.Harishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01252929224052943623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172202953319134786.post-23425367938117672372011-04-01T11:59:24.613-07:002011-04-01T11:59:24.613-07:00Answer to Larry and Heather: I purchased My Pinare...Answer to Larry and Heather: I purchased My Pinarello FP3 frm R&A in Brooklyn. Lovely bike. However a bit disappointed to find a "made in china (or taiwan)" sticker underneath BB. So the frame at least is made there.
My Wilier Mortirolo, though is, all Italian.
DaveDavidhttp://wilier55@yahoo.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172202953319134786.post-42163854582504586672011-04-01T07:18:16.656-07:002011-04-01T07:18:16.656-07:00Just a thought -- when bikes like this were still ...Just a thought -- when bikes like this were still 100% Made in Italy...were there problems with Asian-made fakes? Larry recalls a story about some Ritchey forks awhile back -- someone (not the normal Asian constructor Ritchey chose, but someone who was asked to make a prototype/sample for evaluation during the sourcing process)decided to make fake Ritchey carbon forks...only after some of them failed and were returned to Ritchey did the scheme come to light. Has pretty much the same thing has happened here? Where exactly ARE the Pinarello bikes made these days?Larry and Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16346445393389942837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172202953319134786.post-85297445805631775582011-03-31T13:13:34.138-07:002011-03-31T13:13:34.138-07:00Thanks for the info and alertThanks for the info and alertFithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12549494448314107086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172202953319134786.post-26168419976646116192011-03-31T10:03:54.550-07:002011-03-31T10:03:54.550-07:00"Pinarello does not sell online; we prefer th..."Pinarello does not sell online; we prefer that the client has direct contact with us or with our resellers"
But they do have online resellers, no?
http://www.competitivecyclist.com/frame-brand/pinarello-2.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
