Nicola Verdolin from the Sport Hotel Veronello in Calmasino di Bardolino, a few kilometers from the shores of Lake Garda, writes to inform about bike tours that the hotel is organizing for 2010 in collaboration with ex-professional Eros Poli.
The Sport Hotel Veronello (also known as the Garda Bike Hotel) is geared towards hosting cyclists and sports teams so they have many services that make a stay enjoyable.
The one week tours that are being offered are of three or four days of cycling in the area of Lake Garda plus cycling in France; exact number of cycling days vary according to the specific itinerary selected.
The Lake Garda portion of a week, by way of example, includes: ride the southern coast of Lake Garda and visit to Sirmione; ride through 4 passes in the Valpolicella wine region; a scenic ride to Verona; and a climb of Monte Baldo.
Depending on which trip is selected the France portion will include cycling Mont Ventoux, or Telegraf, Galibier, Alpe d’Huez and the Izoard. For the France portion of the trips you would be joining Eros' group of Italian friends, "Les Amis d'Eros". Having done these France trips I can tell you that they are supremely Italian and entertaining.

It never forgives weakness and extracts an unfair tribute of suffering."); the view on the way up to the summit of Galibier
