The Museo del Ciclismo ‘Alto Livenza’ was first founded in 1988 and located in Stevenà. The small museum included a part of the jersey collection of Toni Pessot. Since then the collection has increased significantly with more valuable memorabilia being added each year.
The museum is dedicated to the memory of Duilio Chiaradia, a pioneer of sports television at RAI from 1950 to 1981 and Giovanni Micheletto, winner of the 1912 Giro d'Italia (fourth edition) with the legendary squad of Atala squad of Ganna, Galetti, Pavesi and Micheletto.
Bicycles in the collection include the road bike of Giovanni Micheletto, a track bike of Ottavio Bottecchia (the first Italian to win the Tour de France), and the bike with disc wheels in which Silvio Martinello won the world championship on the track in 1985. Also, a drive shaft 1898 Peugeot.
In addition to bikes and other memorabilia there is a large collection of jerseys including those of Giordano Cottur, Antonio Bevilacqua, Lance Armstrong, Renato Longo, Giuseppe Beghetto, Gino Pancino, Franco Bitossi, José Manuel Fuente, Felice Gimondi, Giuseppe Saronni, Francesco Moser, Freddy Maertens, Maurizio Bidinost, Vito Di Tano, Moreno Argentin, Maria Canins, “Joop” Zoetemelk, Gianni Bugno, and Miguel Indurain.

Stevenà is about 25km from my house. I ride through there on the way to Sarmede and Vittorio Veneto.
ReplyDeletePortobuffolè is further south. I'll have to drive down there one day.
