Sellaronda HERO MTB-Marathon
The new Sellaronda HERO MTB-Marathon race is being billed as the "hardest mountain bike race of Europe set in one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world, the Dolomites." Indeed, the Dolomites are stunningly beautiful:
Two courses will cross over 4 legendary Dolomiti passes – Gardena, Campolongo, Pordoi and Sella, as well as the Duron Pass, around the spectacular Sella (3,152 m) and the Sassolungo Massifs (3,181 m). The of 90 km and 4,200 m of elevation gain will confer the title HERO OF THE SELLARONDA HERO; the course measuring 50 km and 2,600 m of difference in elevation is for those who like to enjoy the breathtaking view on the Dolomites, Natural World Heritage Site of the UNESCO. The race will begin and end at Selva Val Gardena on June 26, 2010. The route:

For cyclists that ride the Sella Ronda on the roads this would be a great way to enjoy the Dolomites from a completely different perspective.

Sella Ronda Bike Day Day will be on June 27th this year. So, yes, you could ride back to back days. Not sure that will be the case in the future years....
