The "Il Lombardia", the new name for the Giro di Lombardia, will be held on Saturday, September 29th. The 106th edition of the classic will be 251 km in length and will start in Bergamo (to celebrate Felici Gimondi's 70th birthday) and finish in Lecco. The terrible climb of the Muro di Sormano is back in the route exactly 50 years after the climb proved so difficult that many riders were forced to get off their bikes and walk.
