Fondriest Golden Renaix '88

An ICJ reader sent me photographs of an interesting bike he has and is selling: a Fondriest Golden Renaix '88 (serial number 054 of 500 made). Sellers description:

In 1988 Maurizio Fondriest won the World Championship in Renaix, Belgium, after Steve Bauer and Claudy Criquelion had a 'little' incident. To celebrate his victory Maurizio made a limted edition bike in 1998. What's different is of course the paint scheme, but more importantly the monostay. The monostay is Maurizio's crest, and for this bike only his crest was carved out of one solid block of aluminium and used as a monostay.
Dimensions: 55cm cc top tube, 55cm cc seat tube, 13cm cc stem
Gruppo: Campagnolo 10 speed carbon record group (except brakes are chorus), 172.5mm cranks 53-39, and tiso golden kit
Wheelset: Mavic Cxp 30 handbuilt with Michelin tires

The commemorative jersey is part of the sale, as is the Elite golden Fondriest bottle cage.

Condition: like new

Price asked is $2,500 plus shipping. If interested send an email to my address below and I'll have the seller get in touch with you.
