Guess What's Coming from Colnago in September
Ernesto Colnago received a VIP welcome to the four-day Taipei International Cycle Show from Taiwan External Trade Development Council chairman Dr Chih-Kang Wang. According to Dr Chih-Kang Wang, the show, which ran March 17-20, is on course to overtake Interbike as the world’s number two show after Germany’s Eurobike.
The Taipei show is increasingly important to Colnago. “It is the only chance we have to meet all our distributors together. We can share problems and opportunities. When we return from this show we are rich – rich in ideas – and extremely motivated,” Ernesto Colnago revealed.
He added that Colnago have taken some interesting prototypes to Taiwan, but would not be drawn on any specific details. “Some of them will be introduced to our customers next September, some will not," was all he would say.
However, he did reveal the growing importance of the Taiwanese market. “Ten years ago it was a marginal market. Today Taiwan is a premium market. This is thanks to our products, to our distributor and to a different perception of the bicycle by enthusiasts in Taiwan.”
