Lampre-Farnese Vini Finally Registered as UCI ProTeam
Team Lampre-Farnese Vini has finally been been registered as a UCI ProTeam by the International Cycling Union.
On January 25th, the UCI announced that the Lampre-Farnese Vini team had been provisionally registered until 31st March 2010. Pat McQuaid spoke about the case Lampre in an interview with the newspaper De Telegraaf on January 26th, "If the financial situation is not in order on 31 March, the team will disappear. Ernst & Young warned them many times already: if they still have problems they would lose the ProTour license but they could also not even be accepted as a Professional Continental team. We gave them enough time, they know what to do to not be shut out."
Following an examination of the team’s file on this date (April 1, 2010), the Lampre-Farnese Vini team’s situation is judged to be in compliance with the regulations, and the Licenses Commission has deemed the matter closed.
