For the first time in cycling history, a major stage race will start from Scandinavia. It will be the Giro d'Italia 2012. Denmark was chosen as the site of the first three stages of the Giro in 2012, which begins Saturday, May 5 with an individual time trial starting and finishing in the town of Herning in the middle of the peninsula of Jutland.

Can you please advise dates of stages for 2012 Giro d'Italia that are starting in Italy. Am coming from Australia to visit Italy and would like to incorporate a couple of stages in our visit.
ReplyDeleteThe first stage in Italy would be May 8th (assuming no day off for a transfer to Italy from Denmark). Details of the the course won't become known until October when the presentation for the 2012 edition will take place. The race should finish on May 27th.
