Campagnolo "Continental Divide" Gold Buckle
Add this to the list of Campagnolo items I hadn't seen before. A 24k gold plated version of the "Continental Divide 1975" brass buckle. Reportedly made a very limited numbers.
Note: Bringing to attention the following comment from a reader regarding the design of the "Continental Divide" buckle:
"I was working in a bike shop when Continental Divide released these in 1975.
When Continental Divide produced / distributed these belt buckles, they failed to get permission from Campagnolo to use their logo. A few days after this product was received in the shop, Continental Divide issued a product recall – actually, it was a demand for all product to be returned immediately. Can you say “oops.”
The belt buckles Campy released in 1980 are the circular design. These belt buckles were also awarded at USCF / USAC national championships for one or two years."
