Thirty days from today the winner of the 2012 Giro d'Italia will be presented with the Trofeo Senza Fine (trophy without end) in Milano on Sunday, May 27th. At a ceremony today the trophy was installed in the Galleria Vittorio
Emanuele II in Milano, it will remain there during the race.
The Galleria is named after Victor Emmanuel II of Italy, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. It was originally designed in 1861 and built by Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877.
The Giro begins May 5th in Herning, Denmark. Details about the first three race days in Denmark, and the practice times for the riders on the day before the race starts is here.
