My thanks to reader Gian Marco who sends two photographs that he took today showing the most difficult section of the Pompeiana climb where there are two switchbacks and three ramps, here the grade is 14% at the steepest point (click on photos to enlarge).

Thanks for sharing! We'll be keeping Le Manie in our Primavera tour for 2014 (details here http://www.cycleitalia.com/la-primavera-milano-san-remo-cycling14.htm) and quite likely explore this new climb as well, though it will be a shame to see Le Manie ditched after such a short time, the views from up there are superb!
