Atala, From Racing to Mail Delivery

The story begins with Cesare Rizzato, artisan builder from Padova since 1921, when he began to build with the name Ceriz, adding Atala in 1938.



The Italian National Championships were won on Atala bikes in 1992-1993, and World Championships in 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1995. The Atala jerseys will always be famous:

Although Atala exists today they no longer build road bikes using the Atala name (they use the brand WHISTLE for road bikes) and use Atala for city, trekking and mountain bikes. One of these city models is used here in Verona by the postman/postwomen to deliver mail:


The use of bikes for mail delivery is a great idea. But, it's sad to see where Atala has arrived.
