Colà is a "frazione" of the town of Lazise. When you are cycling it Italy you will see signs with this word. A frazione is the name given in administrative law to a type of territorial subdivision of a comune. It is cognate to the English word fraction, but in practice is roughly equivalent to "parishes" or "wards" in other countries.
In Italy, the comune (plural comuni; commune in English) is the basic administrative unit of both provinces and regions, and may be properly approximated in casual speech by the English word municipality.
