Confente no. 39, Now in Verona

One of Mario Confente's 135 frames is now back, for the first time, in Verona. Gianna Confente, one of Mario's sisters, sent me the photo above. The Confente family is extremely happy to have finally acquired one of Mario Confente's creations.

Confente no. 39 was first purchased as a frame and fork. It was originally blue, painted by Jim Cunningham (current owner of Cyclart) but the owner didn't like that color so had it painted white by Gian Simonetti at MASI. The build is with Campagnolo components with the shift levers and brake levers being pantographed with aces, matching the cutout aces in the lugs and bottom bracket. The stem is pantographed with the Mario Confente signature, and there is a matching pump. Wheels are Mavic SSC (Special Service des Course).

A story about my visit with Gianna Confente in Verona appeared in this entry:
You can search "Confente" within the journal for other related stories.
