Giro Weekend in Surrey at Sigma Sport

From Sigma Sport:

"On the 28th and 29th of May 2011 Sigma Sport cordially invite you to visit us to celebrate the Giro D'Italia and all things Italian. This year's race is set to be a corker and could go right down to the wire. To coincide with the potentially decisive 20th stage that takes in the iconic climb to Sestriere, our holiday and performance coaching cycling partners, La Fuga, have organised a club run that will leave the store at 10am on Saturday 28th. A limited number of places are available on this supported ride that will be led by experienced ride guides and of course include an essential tea and cake stop en-route. For more information or to reserve your place click here

We are thrilled to announce that representatives from our key Italian bike suppliers will attend on Saturday and Sunday with selected test bikes from their current ranges for you to try. If you ever fancied putting a Colnago C59 through its paces or riding it back to back with a Pinarello Dogma or Wilier Cento Uno this could be only opportunity you ever get to do it.

If that was not enough, we are also pleased to announce that we will have several of Campagnolo's fleet of 11-speed test bikes for the weekend so if you ever wondered what their new lever design and drivetrain feels like, come on down. Of course we will only have limited sizes of bikes present at our store over the weekend so if you have a specific model in mind email Rohan for confirmation of availability.

Please note: normal test ride restrictions will apply! We will require a valid form of ID (passport or driving licence) together with a utility bill dated within the last three months before you can take to the roads and advise that, while not mandatory, a helmet should be worn. Pedals and shoes always complicate the issue so we suggest you bring your own to avoid disappointment.

Other attractions over the weekend include complimentary Prosecco and light refreshments, with an Italian twist of course.

The Giro D'Italia will be on live each day and visitors are encouraged to view the last critical phase of this year's event with us on one of three in-store plasma displays.

We will have dedicated displays of Italian bikes from Colnago, Wilier and Pinarello alongside componentry from 3T, Campagnolo, FSA, Deda, Fulcrum, Selle Italia, Carbon Ti, PMP, Fizi:k, Prologo, Vittoria, Sidi, and Rudy Project. If that wasn't enough, we will also have exclusive Giro weekend promotions, including special offers on Castelli and Sportful clothing.

We have our fingers (and toes) crossed for fine weather and invite everyone to pay us a visit over the May Bank Holiday weekend and soak up some of the atmosphere of the finale of this year's first Major Tour and make the most of the facilities our amazing new store has to offer. Limited customer car parking is available at the rear of the store and secure bike parking is provided for your peace of mind. See you there!"
