Fabiana Luperini, winner of last year's Giro d'Italia for women, was on hand today to start the stage today. Luperini will once again be contesting the 20th "GiroDonne", as it has been more recently called, from 3 to 12 July.
Fourteen teams will be competing in the 10 stage race that will pass through the regions of Tuscany, Marche, Abruzzo, Molise, Puglia and Campania.
