L'Eroica 2009: 2,000 Registrants

18 September 2009, Gaiole in Chianti (SI): The registration period for L'Eroica 2009 has closed. Despite new rules that permit only pre-1987 bikes that meet certain criteria, the organizers were shocked that 2,000 participants have registered nevertheless.

"E' un successo che non ci aspettavamo - ha sottolineato Claudio Marinangeli del comitato organizzatore - però siamo felici che ci sia moltissima gente che conserva questo tipo di bicicletta. Domenica 4 ottobre a Gaiole in Chianti sarà uno spettacolo davvero imperdibile" ("It is a success we did not anticipate, emphasized Claudius Marinangeli of the organizing committee, but we are happy that so many people have conserved this type of of bicycle. Sunday, 4 October, in Gaiole, Chianti, will be a show not to be missed").

If you are headed to L'Eroica be on the lookout for some very famous riders that will be participating: Francesco Moser, Italo Zilioli, Francesco Casagrande, Franco Bitossi, Gianni Motta, Davide Cassani; Pino Petito and Francesco Scaccia on a vintage tandem; and others.
