Ossobuco



These are the chainstays of a frame exhibited by Della Santa at the 2011 NAHBS. Ossobuco is Italian for "bone with a hole" (osso bone, buco hole), a reference to the marrow hole at the center of the cross-cut veal shank.

  1. I talked to Roland at the show about this feature. He did mention to me that Masi had used it years before, and that he thought it just looked "cool". I totally agree. He also said that he thought it may be a wee bit stiffer, but that was just the way it felt.

  2. As championed by Ernesto on the C40 HP & C50 HP chainstays. I always thought the idea was gimmicky and pointless, not to mention ugly.
