Bicycle Guide, October, 1986
The Bicycle Guide of October, 1986, featured the story "Seduced. A Trip Through Italy's Heart and Soul" and road tests of Masi, Pogliaghi, De Rosa, Bianchi, Sannino, and Bertoni bikes. On the cover were Lisa Melilli with a De Rosa.
Stories for the Italian Cycling Journal about rides, granfondo, having a good time cycling in Italy, Italian cycling history, etc. are very welcome. Contact me at veronaman@gmail.com. Oh, does that bring back memories for Larry! The beautiful woman, the gorgeous bicycle -- He doesn't remember, were there any pictures of the wonderful food? Ted Costantino and Chris Koch produced a wonderful magazine each month -- one that's not been duplicated since. Thamks for rekindling the memory!

ReplyDeleteI still have that issue - along with many Bicycle Guide back issues from that era.
ReplyDeleteBicycle Guide was one of the best all around bike mags ever printed.
In the oct. 1986 Bicycle guide was a story about a gentleman living in Italy while working there. It describes his walking into a bike shop, meeting some of the local riders, selecting a bike and joining them on a ride.
ReplyDeleteMy question is this. Where could one find a reprint of this story? I wish I had hung onto this issue as it was one of my personal favorites.
