2012 Giro d'Italia, Stage 12 Start
Today's stage will pass Cinque Terre on it's way from the start in Seravezza to Sestri Levante, 155 km.
The stage is classified as "medium mountain". The first 53 km are flat with he exception of a short climb at Lerici. At 53 km the stage becomes intense and difficult with four GPM (Gran Premio di Montagna; KoMs):
La Foce km 56.4
Valico di Guaitarola km 95.0
Valico La Mola km 125.4
Villa Tassani km 146.8
Coming to the finish the riders will face a narrowed roadway with 750 m to go followed by a curve at 500 to go.
This should be a particularly interesting and beautiful stage to watch.
Sonny Colbrelli (Colnago CSF), the youngest Italian rider in the Giro, celebrates his 22nd birthday today.
