Campagnolo EPS (Electronic Power Shift) Announced

Campagnolo's electronic gruppo has been unveiled, and not one but two in Super Record and Record levels. The official name is EPS, Electronic Power Shift (and why Colnago dropped the EPS model).

More info to come in the next days but here are some interesting aspects of EPS:
-200g heavier than companion mechanical gruppo
-shifting across entire cassette is possible, based upon how long you hold down the button
-EPS battery is not removable, battery has a charging port (as in prototype)

Availability: to begin shipping next month for OEM builds, in stores in January.

Pricing: Record EPS will be close to Shimano Di2 pricing; Super Record EPS will be yet more of course.

  1. If its heavier and more expensive then I don't want it. I'll stay with mechanical Campy until electronics become lighter than their mechanical equivalent. Shouldn't that be the point of an electronic gruppo?

The rear derailleur looks rather slim and elegant but the front looks like something else entirely.
