Best 2009 UCI Women's World Cup Road Event: Trofeo Alfredo Binda
The Italian round of the 2009 UCI Road Women World Cup, the Trofeo Alfredo Binda-Comune di Cittiglio, has been awarded the trophy for the best event organized in 2009 within the UCI Road Women World Cup, the UCI Under 23 Nations’ Cup and the UCI Juniors Nations’ Cup. The UCI awards this trophy every two years.
The President of the International Cycling Union (UCI) Mr Pat McQuaid presented the trophy to the event organiser Mr Mario Minervino during a ceremony in Montreux, Switzerland, last night.
The Italian women’s event came out above the other 20 races in the running thanks to the quality of its organisation, respect of the UCI rules, level of participation and media coverage.
The first edition of the Trofeo Alfredo Binda-Comune di Cittiglio took place in 2007, and it has been part of the UCI Road Women World Cup since 2008. The 2010 edition of the race will take place on 28th March.
