Italian Professional Cycling Season Set to Start
The Italian professional cycling season starts tomorrow, Saturday, January 30th, with the "60th Giro della Provincia di Reggio-Challenge Calabria". This year's race will also be a memorial to Fausto Coppi who passed away 50 years ago and to his victory on the "Calabresi" roads in 1950. It is a four day stage race as follows:
Saturday, 30 January: Palmi-Cosenza
Sunday, 31 January: Cosenza-Crotone
Monday, 1 February: Crotone-Catanzaro
Tuesday 2 February: Soverato-Reggio Calabria
Teams participating in the race: Liquigas-Doimo, Acqua&Sapone-Mokambo, Isd-Neri, Colnago-Csf Inox, Ceramica Flaminia, Androni Giocattoli-Diquigiovanni, Carmiooro-Ngc, De Rosa-Stac Plastic, Voralberg-Corratec, Amore & Vita-Conad, Miche, CdC-Cavaliere, Loborica, Nippo, Meridiana-Kamen and Obrazi-Velo Revi.
