2012 Giro d'Italia, Stage 6 Start

Today's stage, with the start in Urbino (above), has the profile of a saw with constant ups and downs in the Appenines of Macerata and Fermo. Short climbs and technical descents are the order of the day. 

There are four GPM (Gran Premio Montagna, KoMs) today (location/category/height/point in course):

Cingoli 3ª 746 m – km 95.4

Passo della Cappella 2ª m 772 – km 118; includes 4 km of dirt road with 9% average and sections reaching 15%.

Montelupone 3ª m 251 – km 154.7

Montegranaro 3ª m 241 – km 176.5
